Is Amazon Firestick Blocking My Apps?

Yes, Amazon Firestick is now blocking illegal IPTV apps, particularly on newer devices and through remote disabling of apps, citing cybersecurity concerns and in partnership with anti-piracy organizations. Older devices may still be affected by some updates, but the general trend is toward blocking unauthorized apps.

How Amazon is blocking IPTV

Remote disabling:
Amazon is remotely disabling certain third-party and "dodgy" apps on Fire TV devices.

Newer devices:
Newer Fire TV Sticks, like the Fire TV Stick 4K Select, are built with a new in-house system called Vega that prevents the installation of apps from outside the official Amazon Appstore.

Appstore restriction:
For enhanced security, only apps from the Amazon Appstore are available for download, making it impossible to sideload unauthorized apps.

Sideloading is being curtailed:
The ability to manually install apps outside the official store is being phased out, which was a common method for accessing unauthorized content.

We are moving away from Amazon Firesticks and FireTV! Our recommended device is ANY device that run GoogleTV or AndroidTV.

Example - onn 4K Streaming Device, Google TV - Fast Streaming, Ultra HD, 8GB Storage, 2GB RAM, Remote with Voice Control
